DIY Natural Non-Toxic Beauty Recipes for Hands and Feet

Homemade Hand Sanitizer

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp aloe vera gel
 1 Tbsp filtered water
 1/8 tsp Vitamin E oil
 5 drops Thieves Oil

Directions:
Combine the aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil and the Thieves oil and add a bit of water to thin a bit. You want it to be thin enough to coat your hands.

Homemade Hand Scrub

Ingredients:
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp raw honey
1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 cup organic sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions:
Stir together the honey and coconut oil in a medium bowl.
In another small bowl, blend the salt, sugar and lemon juice until it becomes crumbly.
Pour the salt mixture over the honey mixture and stir until smooth.
Store in a small glass storage container.

Directions For Use:
Gently massage a marble-sized amount of homemade hand scrub into your hands for 30-60 seconds. (Don’t forget to exfoliate between your fingers!)
Rinse with warm water and pat dry. The coconut oil provides enough moisture so you probably won’t need to follow up with anything else. If your hands are extra dry, you might want to apply some homemade whipped coconut oil.
  Repeat 1-2 times per week.

Hand Sanitizer Spray

Ingredients:
4 ounce glass bottle – essential oils can break down plastic, so it’s important to use glass when making this recipe.
water

2 teaspoons of Fractionated Coconut Oil OR Vitamin E oil – You can leave this out of the recipe, but it helps to moisturize dry hands.
25 drops of OnGuard Essential Oil
10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil

Directions:
Fill your bottle up half way with water.
Add the fractionated coconut oil or the vitamin E oil.
Add the essential oils.
Top off with witch hazel.
Shake before each use!

Easy Homemade Foaming Hand Soap

1/3 cup Liquid unscented Castile soap
 2/3 cup filtered water
 1/8 tsp essential oil

Screw on the lid and pump away!

Homemade All Natural Bar Soap

Ingredients:
Food Thermometer
Digital Scale
Electric hand blender
Molds
12 oz. partially frozen goat's milk or canned coconut milk (measure into ziploc bags and freeze until you're ready to use)
3 oz. lye
10 oz. coconut oil
12 oz. lard (preferably from a pastured pig)
0.5 oz. of essential oil

Directions:
(BE SURE TO WEAR EYE PROTECTION & GLOVES)
In a bowl, mix together partially frozen milk and lye with a wooden spoon.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt coconut oil, lard and essential oil to 115 degrees.
Slowly add oil mixture to lye mixture and blend with hand blender for FULL 10 minutes so it is well incorporated and thickened.
Pour the mixture into your molds. Let dry 24 hours.
Remove, slice into bars and place on drying racks for 3 weeks to allow for saponification.

Homemade Liquid Hand Soap

Ingredients:
Two 5 oz. bars of pure castile soap
1 gallon of filtered or distilled water
Essential Oils or Vanilla Extract
(Note: When using pure castile soap there’s no need for the glycerin that so many other recipes call for as castile soap has natural glycerin in it.)

Directions:
. Grate your little soap bars until you have a nice giant pile of shredded soap.
Heat up your water in a very large pot. (I’d get it to a boil if you’re not using distilled water to kill any bad guys. Then turn the heat down until it’s no longer boiling… just hot).
Stir in the soap. Keep stirring until all the little flakes are dissolved. Depending on the size of the grater, this can take a few minutes or go pretty quickly.
Remove mixture off heat and let it sit for 12 – 24 hours. This mixture will thicken during this time. (Stir occasionally throughout the day, but don’t stress about it.)
Stir in your essential oils or vanilla extract, if using. Start small and put in enough until you get the right amount of “smell” for you.
Pour mixture into containers. This will make quite a bit. I was able to fill three soap dispenser and five other fairly large storage containers.

Mint and Sea Salt Foot Scrub

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sea salt

Directions:
Place the seat salt into a medium bowl. Slowly, add the almond oil, stirring as you pour. Add the essential oils and mix well. Store in glass jar.
Sit on the edge of your bathtub or in a chair with your feet in a large basin. Run the mixture over your feet, scrubbing well, making sure to get the heels and soles of your feet.
Chillax for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water and dry. Finish by rubbing some Shea butter or coconut oil on your polished tootsies and put on a soft pair of cotton socks to help the oil absorb (and not make a mess on your floor or sheets).

Winter Mint Foot Soak

Ingredients:
1 ½ C. Sea Salt (you could use Epsom salt too)
15 Drops pure peppermint essential oil
1 Swizzle of vitamin E oil (just a little to lightly coat the salt…not enough to turn it into a scrub)

Directions:
Add a couple of spoonfuls to a tub of toasty water and let your feet enjoy a little rejuvenating treat!

Homemade Essential Oil Hand Sanitizer

Ingredients:
4 oz glass spray bottle
Water
2 teaspoons aloe vera gel
8-10 drops of vitamin E oil, optional
30 drops total of one of the following essential oil combinations:
Lemon, lime, melaleuca, and lavender

Directions:
Fill your glass bottle half-full with water
Add aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil, and essential oils
Fill any remaining space in bottle with water and shake well
To use: spray liberally on hands and rub together
Repeat as needed
